How do I change what phase of Atkins I am in on Fat Secret?
Or in the right hand margin of your Fatsecret page, I believe where it says Toolbox go to >> "My diet" << Lots of settings there.

Anyone try a Wii to get moving a little and lose some??
You all have given me some great replies and wholesome food for thought around this exercise issue. Yes I can walk but not to far before my hip leg and entire foot on one side starts to go numb on me. I have to walk very very short walks with my cane, and sometimes grocery shopping I even need to use their electric scooters. My size being at 310 does not help, but the degenerative disc in my lower back is the biggest part of the exercise issue. I just had a series of lower spine epidural shots back in late July. I can get another booster one in January then will have to wait again until July rolls around so i get the entire series again. I'm trying my hardest to live with the chronic daily pain issues that I have and stay off of narcotic pain meds for relief. This last epidural shot really seemed to help more and longer than a lot of the rest in quite sometime so I have not ask for any pain med refills in several months. It's not that I am not in pain, it's that it bearable at this point so no need for pain meds if the spinal shots semi do it.
Anyway I have no real illusions of buying a Wii and instantly getting fit, it's more something to use for baby steps into more. My doctor has given me permission to exercise as my joints and vertebra will allow me, I thought it will be a start, with the short short dog walks. I'd buy another controller so my grandaughters when they come to visit can help Gramps get movin...lol

I want nothing more than to progress to where I can walk a little farther and get a bit lighter day by day. I'd love to take a trip for groceries and be able to leave my cane behind. I just feel if I try a variety of things during this weight losing transition it could not hurt.

Best to you all...Dan

Anyone try a Wii to get moving a little and lose some??
My wife and I live way out of the city limits, to go to a gym or something would be a 70 mile roundtrip drive for us.
I also am over 50 now and have some bad degenerative discs which limit me especially at my current weight.
We both spend lots of time indoors and at home living in scenic yet quite rainy Washington State. I'm physically disabled because of my back and neck issues but need some low impact form of exercise to start with. I have seen they are putting Wii systems into retirement homes and everything and using them as an exercise tool, like getting the elderly to bowl etc for the health benefits. We have an older 50 inch TV, how about it becoming an asset to our weight loss goal instead on another thing to sit in front of an watch food commercials and maybe snack?

So what do any of you know or think about someone in my condition going out and buying say a Wii gaming console with the sports and sports resort pack as a start just so I have something to initiate more physical movement?? Does anyone else have a Wii in their arsenal of weight loss tools??

As I progress down the road with my weight loss i could add a couple more actual exercise games like Wii Fit or something.

Here's a link to a short YouTube video of the Wii sports resort game with the "motion plus" controller.

Think about it and I'll check back for opinions/advise, replies....Best to you all...Dan
