I only feel fat in pictures...who can relate.
Thank God! I am not alone. I've always heard about how anorexic people always saw themselves as a huge fat person when looking in the mirror. So, I've come to believe that I am the same way, only when I see myself in a mirror, I think, "wow, I look great! I am not that fat." Then I will see myself in a photo and just break down and cry. Do other people really see me as such?? So, pictures don't lie and it is a turning point in my weight loss. I keep one such "horribly huge me" photo taped to the inside of my food journal. When I want something not so good for me, I open the book and think about that image and I will walk away from any temptation.

I need to understand Carbs
Thank you all for the info. I am now more confused as to what could get the trigylcerides to spike up like they did. I do not eat anything white. Nothing processed, no sugar, no white rice, no white pasta, no white potatoes, no white bread, no soda, no caffeine. I am a whole grains girl, oatmeal (steel cut), flaxseed, wheat germ, whole unenriched wheat, etc., etc., I always have been, I even eat more veggies & fruit and alot of fiber, no red meats, I border on being vegetarian. Can berries do the same thing? I have been eating a ton of berries of any kind.

I need to understand Carbs
I just had my blood work done and my triglycerides are off the charts. I was told to watch the carbs as that is what is affecting them. I have never been one to watch that and I admit I do not understand this whole carb thing. Can anyone explain it so this "dummy" can understand it and not have to go on any meds to control it? I would rather accomplish it naturally then chemically. I need to assure my dr. that I will do it on my own and then prove it.

My view on: SALAD DRESSINGS
Can we all stand one more thought on this issue?? I agree as long as we are eating a healthy full of veggies salad, the dressing shoudn't make too much difference as long as you are not dumping the entire bottle on it. I have a lemon tree outside my kitchen door and have found that squeezing fresh lemon and a little sunflower oil on my daily salads, makes it taste "bright & fresh". It just enhances the flavors. I got tired of trying to find a good lo-cal dressing that didn't have artificial anything in it, so I went with nature. I am trying to cut out anything processed, anything artificial from my diet. Works for me.

What should we eat at CINEMA?
I am always "the big purse lady" at the movie theater. I noted once at the theater what brand water they sold and now always bring that brand in my purse. If I need a snack, I have discovered Smart Pop 100 calorie popcorn, make it at home and put it in a glad bag and I always have a 90 cal Fiber One bar in my purse. Problem solved, not bigger calorie dent and I just count it as a snack.
