Up two pounds, down one inch since last weigh in. I'm feeling stronger and clothes are fitting looser, however I'm concerned about the weight gain. Dr. Oz would say not to worry about it as long as I'm eating the right foods.... I'm eating well but next week I'll scrutinize how much I am eating. I may not be stopping as soon as I should at meals..
My past two weekly challenges went very well. Week one challenge was eating after 8pm. I'm no longer eating after my 8pm cutoff time, I ended up pushing dinner a little later than usual, which keeps me satisfied until bedtime. Week 2 challenge was getting up to work out before work. I've been trying to do this for years! It's so much easier to stay in bed and tell myself I'll do it when I get home. Even with the best of intentions, I know I skip more workouts in the afternoon because things come up, errands must be run after work, etc. So I'm thrilled to say that this week, I got up early enough for a 60-minute workout 4 out of the 5 days! woohoo! It wasn't easy. Every morning I had the same argument with myself, but once I got up and walked around a little I felt wide awake and ready to go! Next week I'm shooting for 5/5 days.

At the end of week 1 I'm down an inch on my waist and half a pound on the scale. It's great to see progress and I'm working hard at being patient with any amount of movement in the right direction. Since I started walking for part of my lunch hour, I'm easily averaging an hour of exercise a day.
The weak area that I'm focusing on improving is snacking after 8pm. I usually eat a large salad with chicken or salmon for dinner, which feels nice and filling for about an hour, then I start feeling empty. Sometimes my stomach is growling before bedtime and it's hard not to grab a snack.

Woa! Ouch, that fall off the wagon hurt!! I've been avoiding this weigh-in since spring break. Ignorance may be bliss, but you gotta start paying attention again sometime! lol
Since my last weigh-in, I graduated from my masters program and started working full time in my dream job. It's been a busy six months, but that doesn't justify the total disregard to my diet and exercise program.
I'm getting back on now, taking this first embarrassing step of honestly reporting my weight (I'm back where I started in January! sheesh.).
I have more time to devote to fitness now, and new motivation -- I just signed up for my company's 12-week body challenge!

Yay! Minus 3 pounds and .5 inches from the waist. This entire week has been one big YOU-turn!
I realized that to lose weight, I CANNOT for a moment relax just because I'm feeling confident from successful past weeks. Each day I must renew my commitment to lose weight as if it were day one.
Oh, and reading the YOU book has really helped too! I knew the main points for the diet but the book's detailed explanations make them much more meaningful.

Well, I guess this is the feedback I needed to know whether I had one bad week or need to reevaluate what I'm doing.
I've been eating the right foods and exercising daily (almost an hour every day between walking to school and workout videos at home). But I think my meal portions are too big. I noticed this week that I make huge salads out of habit even when I'm not that hungry. I also tend to let myself go hungry for too long and like snacking late at night.
I'll work on these things this week. I finally bought the book so I'll be learning even more about the diet than what I've been able to pick up online. It's consoling that my waist measurement has not increased at all and I'm still fitting into the "skinny" clothes in my closet. I just want to get past this point to where I have to go clothes shopping! :-)
