Went off my diet yesterday but still lost a full pound since I last weighed in. Huzzah!

I'm not going to even try calorie-counting for the last two days, as they were crazy with work + the holidays. I'll just document what I ate and move forward.

Thanksgiving dinner was reasonable - stuffed cornish game hen, roasted carrots and green beans, homemade crescent rolls. I skipped dessert for the first time in my life. I had to work since this is Canada and they don't celebrate American Thanksgiving. That was depressing but next year I'll be back home and all will be well. :)

Black Friday - worked all day and the company provided us with breakfast, lunch and dinner which, of course, were unhealthy. I had a donut, small cup of coffee, handful of gummy bears, two small slices of pizza and a large helping of strawberry shortcake (the Thanksgiving dessert that I had skipped). I got home from work at 4 p.m. and was in bed by 5:30 p.m. with no dinner. Just an exhausting day overall.

Today - another long day of work ahead of me but I'm back on my diet.

Yesterday was the first day that I stayed under my 1700-calorie limit. I attribute that to not having any snacks, probably the first time that's happened all year.

On the downside, I haven't had time to exercise at all yet. Today I have a job interview for a less hectic, less stressful job. It's actually my 3rd and final interview for the position. Should they make me an offer and I accept, I'll hopefully have the energy to exercise on my days off.

My current job is the main reason for my weight gain this year. Too much stress has led to overeating as a coping mechanism. Not enough time or energy to cook after a long day led to eating a lot of fast food for lunch and dinner. I need to get out of there for both my mental and physical health.

Today's smoothie recipe:

1 cup strawberries
1 banana
1/3 cup orange juice
1/4 cup lowfat yogurt
3 ice cubes
