How accurate is Fatsecret's RDI estimate/calculation?
Any idea how we can alter the BMR on FatSecret so it's more accurate? Mine shows my BRM as 3193 when it should be 1965 - makes working out what to eat and how exercise affects it a nightmare. But I would like to use fat secret.

How many calories?
Hi
Have just joined Fatsecret and wonder if anyone can advise. Fatsecret recommends I eat 2100 calories a day to lose weight but other web sites say between 1500 and 1800 a day which is obviously very different. I am 5/9" - have a sedentary life and need to get from 289 to 168 lbs within say a year and a half?
Any ideas?

Counting Calories
That's really useful thanks! Think I have been cutting the fat and protein back a bit too far.
