Hi,

I'm 39 years old. I live in Oklahoma. I quit smoking 2 months ago (alittle over) and though I didn't really realize it, I think I allowed food to substitute the cigarettes! Never really dieted before so this is totally new to me. I have 2 children. My husband passed away this past January from a heart attack. He smoked too and also loved fried foods and everything thats bad for ya. My daughter's real thin but I'm trying to convince her that thinness doesn't last forever! My son, who does have the tendency to put on weight, will eat anything and everything. So, need to get healthier meals w/out him really knowing it. He did voluntarily quit Mt. Dews but he loves junk food! So, I'm on a new mission! Hopefully I can do it!

Pass healthy eating on to family!
Hi. This is only my 2nd day so I can't say I've lost any weight yet. But, I can say that I feel better. Not sure if it 's due to the diet but I just don't feel as heavy! Inside. So, I want to kind of pass the healthier eating to my son. His Dad died this past January and I feel he's kind of used eating as a way of comforting himself. If I put bananas and stuff in the house, he does eat it. He voluntarily took himself off Mt. Dews and drinks water a lot so he knows he needs to eat healthier.

Thanks for replying! I will definitely follow all the advice. Biggest challenge I have to face is my pickiness. There are so many foods I have never liked but I suggest I change that! Relz, it's amazing the weight you've lost! Definitely an inspiration!

Thanks all,

Hi all, I'm new to this. I stopped smoking couple months ago and I guess I replaced it w/eating. My RDI is 1300 so is it best if I stay under that to lose weight? I know I'm really hungry but I can handle it. Any advice is really appreciated.

Thanks,

Kelly
