I'm behaving well for someone on spring break! I started personal training with Angel again on Saturday, and I told her my frustrations about not being able to run anymore. She looked at me like I'd lost my mind. "Joanne, you're starting over. No running today, and no running yet for a while." If that didn't send the message home, then trying to keep up with her and the other trainee, Deondra, whom Angel instructed me not to intimidate, did.

I didn't have to do any "intimidation" because Angel pretty much told her all kinds of stuff about me, like, if you don't bring water, Joanne most likely will have extra bottles -- especially in the summer, when she actually brings a small cooler in her car. And don't be listening to me too much because I will try to manipulate the time by taking reallyyyyyyy loooooong doing one particular exercise, just so I'd need to do less. Oh yeah, and Joanne is afraid of heights, so we can't do too much stuff on the bleachers. I just rolled my eyes. The bad thing about being with a personal trainer for that long is that she knows you like the back of her hand -- especially all the tricks you pull to get out of doing extra stuff.

I walked away from Saturday's workout feeling like I could have done more, but I know Angel's right about starting over. If I want to avoid injury and overdoing it, I'm going to have to take baby steps back to being fit again.

But I'm serious about losing weight. I went to the Houston Rodeo yesterday, where everywhere you turn, they have fried snickers, fried pickles, fried twinkies... They would fry shoes if you told them to. The guards at the entrance let me take in my sports water bottle, so I refilled it with water throughout the time I was at the Rodeo -- not so much that I wanted to be healthy, I just didn't want to pay $3 for a half liter bottle every time I got thirsty. And I may be a fiend when it comes to dipped cones at Dairy Queen, but I hardly ever drink sodas, not even diet soda. I even quit Starbucks again! So yesterday was a good day with my water intake. My only regret is that I didn't bring my hydration backpack with frozen water in it -- yum.

I've been working out almost everyday this week, too. I even had my bicycle's tires replaced so I can start biking around the neighborhood, something I haven't done in a looong time.

I actually can't wait for Monday's weigh-in!
