Leg Cramps
Leg cramps can be a sign of metabolic acidosis. That just means that there are too many ketones and not enough water in your body. It usually only happens to diabetics, but I'm on a migrane medicine that does that too me, and high protein diets can do it as well. Just be sure that your getting plenty of water (more than 64oz/day). If you have to pee about every hour, thats great. When your'e in ketosis (a.k.a. metabolic acidosis) your body can overheat easily so make sure when you're working out, that your either indoors or keep cool water (not ice water) with you, and a small damp towel. This isnt so critical in the cooler seasons cause its easier to keep your body cool enough, but in the summer months its very critical. Since its so easy for your body to overheat, you could be getting heat cramps as well (yes even though its not summer). Just get to a cool spot, and massage the leg that hurts while splashing a little cool water on it and it should help.

I think I covered everything (its been a while since I studied electrolyte balance and the blood in anatomy) so you may want to google metabolic acidosis or ketosis.

Saving money during your weight loss
So, for alot of us on this site, we're looking to lose a significant amount of weight, and drop sizes in clothing. However, that can get expensive, especially if you want to drop 2 or more sizes. Once you drop a size, you have to buy clothes to fit the new you, then you drop another size, you still have to go buy more clothes...yes it can be rewarding to get a few new outfits, but wouldnt it be even more rewarding to be able to say that you lost the weight, ended up with new outfits and still saved alot of money?!Smile I'm a college kid and havent been able to pay my own bills for the past 2months, how can i expect to buy new clothes?? But i need them cause my old ones are so big!

A while back when i still had a job, I invested in a sewing machine(about $90 at walmart). I would suggest getting one and learning to sew (a sewing class at a nearby HobbyLobby, or community college can be fun) or find someone who already has one and knows how to sew. Its alot of fun to do it yourself cause you can be creative with it using scrap material, and your clothes that are too big. It also adds to your list of accomplishments.Smile I like knowing that noone will have an outfit just like the one i made, and it saves money.
Now of course not all clothes can be easily altered, so some of them, i end up giving to goodwill or something, but I rarely have to buy new clothes now because i can alter my skirts, and shirts. Jeans are a bit harder to do, but its possible.
Just a thought...good luck! Smile

I never thought of the rubberband idea, thats great, especially for ppl like me who forget how much water theyve taken in by the end of the day then wonder, "did i drink enough". Ill have to try this. Smile
