Hi! My name is Ann and I am almost 48 years young:-) I live in British Columbia Canada and just love it here! I was diagnosed in the fall of '09 with a hereditary condition called Hemochromatosis, to keep it short...a genetic disorder which causes my body to store too much iron. Since the time of diagnosis up until now, I've undergone 23 (about to be 24) treatments called phlebotomy's which entails blood letting a unit of blood to bring my iron down. In the beginning of treatment I was undergoing one treatment a week. As you can well imagine I was drained and listless for months, hence my close to 40 pound weight gain. I am now back on track and things are under control so with much research on the Atkins diet I am preparing to start induction within the next week. Looking forward to living again, meeting new people and feeling good! Cheers:-)
