I WAS 55 years old with 75lbs. to lose. NOW, I'm 57 and 120lbs- maintaing the loss for about 10 months now!

The Skin We're In
I lost 75lbs. and have been maintaing the loss for about 10 months now. At 57yo I was also afraid of loose skin. I started doing weight training 3x/week at the same time I started LC and I noticed that while I have some loose skin on my arms, legs and abs, it definitely seems tighter as time goes on in maintenance. I think the key is exercise and steady, slow weight loss. I lost, on average, about 5lbs/month. I'll trade a little loose skin for "tight, over-stuffed fat" any day! Good luck!

I just ordered Primal Fuel from Mark Sisson's web site. Looks like the ingredients are closest to "natural", with no soy or gluten. I'll let you know how I like it!

My love-hate relationship with Atkins
Sooo many misconceptions here! Atkins is NOT a zero carb diet. It is a LOW carb diet. Our carbs come from veggies, some dairy, nuts and (as we progress into ongoing weight loss stage) fruit and legumes. I would never tell someone else that this diet is right or wrong for everyone. All I can say is that for ME it is the only plan I have ever been able to stay with long-term and never feel hungry on, lose my "carb-craving" and find successful weight loss (75lbs in 14 months). I've reached a goal beyond my dreams and have been able to maintain it.
