Oh man, I'm having a tough time getting back on this wagon. We made a ton of lasagna and a beef/potato casserole this weekend and they were absolutely delicious, but not in my plan. When my husband goes grocery shopping suddenly our house goes into carb overload! Seriously - he brought back 4 bags of chips, rolls, bagels, bread, lasagna, tortellini and other pastas, beer, ice cream, etc. Gotta get back into the swing of things though!

I'm back! It has been a while since I last logged any food.. partially because I was on vacation last week but also partially because I was getting burned out / bummed out before that and needed a break.
After a deliciously off-diet vacation in New Orleans (gumbo, jambalaya, seafood platters, po'boys, muffaletta, beignets, etc etc, and lots and lots of drinking.. oh man I'm drooling just thinking about it!), it's time to get back on the wagon.
I gained a few pounds while I was there, which wasn't surprising given the amount of alcohol, sugary, fatty foods I consumed while I was there. Even still, it was 100% worth it and I wouldn't change any of it :)

One success: went for my first run since breaking my foot
One failure: pigged out on sugary foods this weekend
So Saturday I completely fell off the wagon. Not sure what happened - but I had a cinnamon bun from a local italian bakery for breakfast, followed by their delicious almond and pistachio cookies for lunch. Add in a beer or two and by dinner I was feeling so crappy that I was craving protein. No more carbs for me, thank you very much!
So I did gain back a couple of pounds as a result of retaining water (the carbs plus the monthly timing), but now I'm back on track so the pounds should come back off again pretty easily.
On a great super exciting note, I went for my first run yesterday since breaking my foot back in February!! I was worried that it would hurt or get sore or make it challenging to run, but gave it a try anyway. I only did about a mile and a half because I didn't want to increase mileage too quickly, but it was a great feeling!! I didn't realize just how much I missed running. Can't wait to get back out there (but not today because it is raining).

Finally those next two stubborn pounds came off! I was pretty good for the last few days but the weight was just too clingy! Also it might have to do with the taco night I had the other day, way too much sodium. But this is awesome :) That means I'm almost to my mini-goal! Definitely motivating!!
Also, I just checked my BMI - it is down 3 points since I started! Which is just awesome, because it almost puts me back into the normal range! woohoo!!

My weight is holding steady, I think my body is adjusting to my return to the PP/PV after splurging last week. So not exciting enough yet for a weigh in. BUT.. I've been noticing that I look thinner overall especially around my waist - I tend to lose weight fastest around my waist, since most of my weight sits in my hips and thighs. My husband even commented on it today - he said my stomach looks flatter and my face less puffy! It was a great start to the day :)
