Today's wins:
1. Cooked for 4-5 hours, made a ton of food for the week - beef, bean, and kale soup; mashed potatoes (today is cheat day!); creamy squash soup; meat and mushroom tomato sauce; turnips au gratin; ginger soy marinated chicken... all from scratch. My feet are killing me but my taste buds are happy!
2. Despite it being cheat day, stayed well within my calorie allotment for the day. It's amazing how unimpressive things are when you build them up in your head for a week and finally get to enjoy them - in my head this beer was the most delicious, thirst quenching thing I could have, but when I had a couple beers today, it was tasty but not quite as satisfying as I imagined. Good to remember in the future.
3. Weighed in for DietBet 10 today - the goal is to lose 10% of my weight in 6 months, with mini-goals in between (i.e. lose 3% in the first month). It cost me $125 to bet I'd lose the weight in 6 months, but the total pot is around $267,000 right now for ~2,000 people. If I stay on track I have a good chance of earning my bet back plus more!

Today's wins:
1. Stayed away from the delicious but unfulfilling empty carbs of the Shocktop my husband brought home today. Beer is delicious but I have the self control to wait until cheat day.
2. Did yoga even though I was still sore from yesterday.
3. Worked from home and took a half day due to the snow.

Today's wins:
1. Pushing through the entire 1 hour yoga program (taking breaks as needed but always getting back to it)
2. Refraining from the multiple sweets that were present in our office's kitchen today (including but not limited to pineapple upside-down cake, shortbread cookies, gingerbread(?) cookies, and a giant bag of candy - m&ms, nerds, twix, etc)
3. Maintaining fairly low-carb eating despite eating out for both breakfast and lunch
4. Getting 8+ hours of sleep last night
5. Shoveling snow even after the exhausting yoga session

I'm still having trouble staying away from sweets entirely, but I find the less I eat overall, the less I crave sugars. If I have carbs earlier in the day, I crave sugar in the afternoon. If I don't have much to eat, I don't crave the sugar.
I'm also embracing the growling stomach that tends to pop up an hour or so before mealtime. I know I get enough calories, so I don't >need< to snack all the time, my stomach is just used to eating what it wants when it wants.
Also, less carbs = less water retention, so I'm happily shedding a few pounds right off the bat. Glad to be back in the swing of things :)
