I’m 61, birthday July 28th
I’m a type 1 diabetic, sense starting my current weight loss plan I’ve cut my insulin intake by half.
I have extreme arthritic knees. Hope to have surgery on my right knee this summer
I love cooking, camping, woodworking, and gardening
I work as an Exchange network administrator for a company in Tracy (80 mile commute one way)
I live just north of Sacramento California
I’m a Christian, and attend Now Hope Christian Fellowship
I support Rick Santorum for president
I enjoy reading old Sci-Fi novels, EE Doc Smith, F Paul Wilson, Harry Harrison etc
I also enjoy a wide range of movies
I hope to visit Scotland someday
I’m married, no children but two great dogs that keep life interesting

Things I’m doing to lose weight.
My daily workday schedule:
Wake up 3:30 am
Start my commute to work by 4:30 am
Eat a 20g protein bar on drive in
Start work at 6 am
Have two 20oz cups of coffee by 9 am
9 am Eat a 2 cup serving of sliced (frozen) strawberries
12pm have my soup and salad lunch
3:30 pm start commute home
4 pm, have another 20g protein bar
6 pm have a light dinner
For the day try to keep my calories below 1500
7:30 pm 15min of stretching and weight exercise
8 pm go to bed, read for 30 minutes
Start the whole thing over again

Hello
I've been lurking in the background for two weeks now, thought it's time to say hello.
I've lost 14lbs so far. I know that a good part of that was water weight.
The hardest thing for me will be exercise, as I have extreme arthritis in both knees.
Also I'm not much or a writer but will try to keep this journal going and be an encourgement to others.
