WHY
Here are some low-cal ways that I kick my chocolate cravings:
Diet Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa (25 cals)
Vita Tops (chocolate/choc chip muffin tops- 100 cals)
Kellog's Fiber Plus bars (120 cals and LOTS of fiber)
Jello Sugar Free Pudding-Double Chocolate (60 cals)
Hostess Low Cal Cream Filled Chocolate Cupcakes (100 cals)

You can have chocolate and stick to your daily calories, you just have to plan well and control your portions! Hang in there!!

Low-calorie high-volume foods?
Big salads are always my fix when I need a large volume of food for little calories. Lots of veggies thrown on top- carrots, beets, peppers, sprouts, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc. Sometimes I'll even throw on a little bit a chevre (70cal/oz.) for creaminess. I'll dress the salad with a very good balsamic vinegar mixed with just a touch (maybe a tsp.) of sugar. You can fill up a big salad bowl and still keep it under 300 calories. It definitely satisfies my craving for "volume"!

Can't stop the night-time snacking!
Anyone have any unique tips for keeping the night time snacking at bay? I try so hard to not eat anything after 8PM, but it's been really hard lately. I can go the whole day, until about 6PM, with only eating about half my calories, but as soon as the sun sets... look out! I do try to "save" a bunch of calories for the inevitable evening snacking, but it sure would be nice to go to bed with 100-200 calories under my limit. Anyone else have this same habit? Any tips on how to stop?

Grocery List
Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk (like Almond Breeze)- 40cal/cup; Puffed wheat cereal- 60cal/cup; Laughing Cow Light Spreadable Cheese- 35cal/wedge; Mr Wheat Crispy Wheat Cakes- 16cal/cake; Hormel Turkey Pepperoni- 73cal/17 slices;
Those are just a few from my list. I'm a calorie counter only, so I listed what I believe to be the best, non-whole food 'bang for the buck' so to speak.

Waiter/Server Calories
Waitress here, too! Smile So I found this: http://www.primusweb.com/fitnesspartner/calculat.htm

Which is nice cause it let's you put in your weight, then it calculates caloric burn for LOTS of different activities. But when I calculated for my weight it said I was only burning slightly more calories per hour "serving/bartending" as "sitting in class"... which I don't agree with. Most days I'm running around so much that I actually break a sweat.

If you go here: http://caloriecount.about.com/calories-burned-serving-food-a73
it says that a person who weighs 150lbs burns 170 calories "serving food".

Not sure if that helps, hope it does!
