ACCOUNTABILITY....
Hi - we all need a bit of encouragement, so I would like to be your diet buddy. I too am trying a low calorie option similar to weightwatchers, and find it hard as I love chocolate! I have 24 pounds to lose which has crept up on me after having 4 kids.
I am in a play at the end of this month, and need to lose a bit by then to fit into my costumes! Today is day 1 and so far so good - apparently it is day 2 where many fail, so may need a word or 2 tomorrow!

I'm new here.
Thanks will do - must also get out of the habit of weighing every day - stupid I know, and it only knocks me down when it goes up. Will measure everything in the morning.
Will walk tomorrow too, as I don't have the car and need to take little one to mother and toddlers about a mile away

Hi Sweet Gabby
Glad to hear from another Atkins dieter. It is hard after having kiddies, I have had 4 and put on 3 stone with the last one! Now only have a stone and a half to lose, but need encouragement as I crave sugar. That is why Atkins is good for me, as it takes away the need for sugar.
You did well to lose so much in such a short time - that will encourage me loads.
Be good to hear from you soon with some food ideas.

The Dangers of Low Carb- Opinions?
I have been on Atkins in the past and have come bac to it this week. The first few weeks you do eat quite a lot of fat, but it is good fat generally, found in fish and olives, with the occasional organic sausage thrown in for good measure. Then you are meant to introduce wholegrain carbs, and obviously eat less of it. This diet works because you don't eat vast quantities of fatty food - you don't need a lot before you feel full. Plus I am a sugar addict, and it stops me eating sugar, which is a good benefit, and is why I am back on it now. As long as you eat in moderation, and drink plenty, it is fine, no constipation. He is right about the breath though - I carry a mint spray with me!

I'm new here.
Thanks for your advice. I do want to lose weight for myself too - my size 12 jeans are way too tight at the moment!
I will make my salads as interesting as possible - I have found out info on here already on portions of certain food, so hopefully will be able to stick to it for good.
