Losing Weight Without a Gym?!?
P90X sounds like it would suit you well. I'm on my 5th round of it and is a great full-body, at-home workout. I see you want great abs. P90X has an ass-kicker ab workout called Ab-Ripper X. Remember though.... You can do the best ab workout ever but unless you hit the cardio and have a clean diet, your abs will never come out and say hi!!!

Best time for doing exercise, morning or night?
The only right answer is when will you do it consistently? For me that's morning because the only excuse not to is in my head.. Like cjmurph said in a previous post "If I sit down I am a goner". I know if I did them in the afternoon I would have the same issue along with kids, yard work, hanging with the neighbors and the list goes on. In the morning, it's just you and no excuses.. That's what works for me but by no means is the "right" answer..

Sleeping aids when mind just can't stop working
I had the same problem and here's a drug free solution that worked for me. If you have a droid or iphone, you can download a free app called Relax Melodies. On it you can play sounds such as the ocean crashing, birds, thunder, meditation music, chimes, wind and the list goes on. I turn it on when I go to bed at night and set the timer for 30 minutes when it automatically shuts itself off. I've yet to make it to the 30 minutes... Worth a try and it's free!!

Why havent I lost any weight?!
One quick tip. I have a crazy schedule with my kids so when I get home, I sometimes only have 30 minutes to eat before I have to head to an activity. One thing that has helped me is that every weekend I make a whole bag of skinless chicken breasts in the crockpot. I then throw them in a zip lock and into the fridge they go. When I get home from work I can throw one of them on some whole wheat toast with side of cottage cheese and whala.. A dinner that takes about 3 minutes to make that is good for me. I also have plenty of tuna on hand and some whole wheat tortilla shells to make wraps. The key is to surround yourself with good things and trying to minimize those times where it's easy to fail "like when you're on the run". Just my 2 cents!
