Goal Weight

Hey there! I'm a recent college grad, Mother of one, Wife and daughter. Over the Years I managed to gain a crap-ton yes, a crap-ton of weight, which left me at about 316 pounds when I finally realized I needed to do something. Compounding the weight I had health problems I'd developed during my pregnancy, as well a hip injury from a car accident a few years prior to that. The hip injury alone made being active hard but I continued to walk miles a day even as I gained weight but I plateaued so walking no longer helped me control my weight. Recently the depression and dislike of my body image drove me to make the decision to push through whatever I have to (Sensibly that is.) to lose this weight which led me to fatsecret.com. I actually joined fatsectret.com on a whim; two weeks ago I declared that I I'm going to burn the flab and get my "sexy" back lol and I swear the moment I decided to dedicate my time to it I came across this website which to me seemed like a sign so I joined, and here I am, Hoping to get and give the support we all sometimes need and share my weight loss adventure with you, being a little anonymous as I do because even though I am here I still am a bit shy of showing myself in a lot of things online, I'm still human and the things people say can be hurtful. Also, I'm not very good with Calorie counting but I am pretty conscious of what I eat as well as how much, so we'll see if I can get into the habit of doing so!

Goal:
Drop 1-2lbs a week

WISH ME LUCK!

For every Oliver, there's a DairyKing
Applauds, I think they realise the power kind words for those of us struggling with weight gain/loss. They are indeed the unsung silent heroes who make a difference more than they probably know.

Weight loss for the older woman
well heck it's even the same for the younger ladies, I mean yes there are differences, but the calorie counting, the saying no to sweets, it is hard to stay focused, and if you are focused its like you are putting so much time and energy into it ( not really) that you just want to be done with it or am i the only that have had these thoughts in the past? This is when our support system is crucial and to have family and friends who don't have weight issues constantly brandishing junk food and snacks it is that much harder. Right now I'm pretty focused and looking forward to a challenge that's starting in two days, can't wait.

Anyway, Congratulations on your weight loss I wish you greater success!!

Can't seem to stick to a diet
I've stumbled across your page after realizing you supported a journal entry I've made, then i decided to read through your profile. I wanted to say Diets are super hard to follow, I even find some of the most disciplined people I know having trouble following, so don't feel bad about yourself, it takes a lot to be able to change our eating habits. For some its easy I'll say, but the majority of us have a lot of trouble. Also something I discovered while dieting in the past, is that my biggest downfall was completely cutting out snacking and sugars. I would do great for about a week or two, three eve, then bam! suddenly get hit with the urge to binge on sweets and junk food. DON'T cut yourself off of sweets and junk cold turkey, allow yourself small servings so the urge to binge doesn't kick you in the gut and gradually replace those sweets with fruit or veggies. I have always been a fruit nut but along with the fruit Ii loved sugary drinks and that's where most of my weight gain came from.
