A little bit more down. Ounce by ounce. It's why I like daily weighing, although sometimes I go a day or two between.

Tonight is a new-to-me dinner my friend taught me: cubes of tri-tip marinated in Lawry's beef marinade (I did it right in the crock pot) topped with 2 packages of sliced mushrooms. Leave on low all day. Serve over rice or pasta; it makes its own gravy. My friend's husband said it was the best thing he'd ever had and he's married to the world's greatest cook! My hubby is really excited about dinner tonight! It's the little things :)

My husband supports my new WOE 1000% but he wants his treats...Here is our exact text messaging to each other last night:

Me: I'm heading to the store after work. Do you need anything?

Hubby: We're having shrimp and bread for dinner. Pick up a dessert.

Me: Ok.

Hubby: Chocolate cake.

Me: Ok...

Hubby: And beer.

Me: So we're not dieting anymore? LOL.

Hubby: Shock Top

I had salad and bread -- the shrimp didn't appeal to me, but I did eat a little piece of the chocolate cake. It was dry and not worth the calories.

Ounce by ounce I lose... thank goodness I'm going down! My visit to the orthopedic surgeon wasn't great (too young for a full knee replacement, which I don't want anyway), but gave me encouragement that I can't wreck my knee any more than it already is. He encouraged me to do as much exercise as I want to -- as long as I don't hurt. He told me to forget about "no pain, no gain" because that applies to muscles getting into shape, not knees with no cartilage and a torn meniscus :)

The exercise bike is still my first choice, but I've been looking at some low-impact videos online because I like to move around and have a little fun. A 10-15 minute program is about what I can handle right now, and I'm motivated to start toning this flab that's a byproduct of losing weight.

I'm also SUPER ready to get into a new color group on this site, so go, go, go!!!

Long day... busy at work, lots of pain this week in my knee, visit to the ortho surgeon to discuss solutions (injection of hydrolaunic acid is winning right now), and lots of traffic coming home. It was a great night to try a new place for dinner: Green Tomato Cafe. Healthy GF and vegan choices including soups, salads, wraps, bowls, etc. Hubby got the steak salad and I got the chipotle corn chowder and fried green tomatoes. We split the sweet potato fries. Everything tasted good, but the fries needed a tad more seasoning. Ah well, that's what ketchup is for! We went to Hobby Lobby afterward so I could find something (I didn't) and then lost hubby who had never been in one of those stores before. He kept wandering around saying, "They have everything!" Sure, everything except what I want (tiny little glass bottles with corks so I can make "potions" for my Halloween-themed miniature room box).
