I live in central Texas, and am a happily married mother of 5 (2 biological/3 step....but they ARE all mine/ours ;) ) Have enjoyed staying home with our youngest, cuz I was a working mom before. So the last 2 1/2 years since I had her, have been tough (on the portion control end of things). Before~ I was able to portion out the food, and take it with me to work. NOW, I am around food all day long/our kitchen. And I tend to be a snacker or emotional eater, if things are too stressed. I haven't been heavy all my life, but have had highs and lows since college, and more high/lows, after my 15 year old's birth. In 2004, was able to portion control/exercise off 60 lbs [from 236 to 176 lbs], and keep it off til I was pregnant with my youngest in '09. Proud of those 5 years I was able to consistently maintain my weight :)
Hoping to get back to that, and keep that determination. Have included my husband, in my lifestyle change. He has taken back up, Tai Chi....for exercise & relaxation....and I(we)have been walking/training for a half-marathon. We DID it!!! We did our 1st half-marathon in Nov '11, in San Antonio....and hope to walk Austin's half-marathon in February. Glad to have this website to help keep track of my/our progress~~and to get added support or give it to others. We can do it!!! We ALL can :)
