Hooray! I fasted from Monday night (was supposed to stop eating by 8pm but I had a hard boiled egg and a slice of bacon before bed, I know, I know...) until now, and the plan is to go until noon today. If I can do that, it will be a 36 hr fast. I have not felt hungry at all, no "shakes" like I used to have before when I would go only 4 hrs without eating! I think I might do a complete one day fast once a week from now on. I was down 3 lbs from last week, and 1.2 lbs from yesterday morning.

My husband looked pityingly at me last night when he was eating his Dream Dinners Lemon Chicken Villa with toasted orzo. I kept telling him I wasn't hungry but he was incredulous.

So far this morning I have had only my chicken broth. Everyone here is weighing in for the challenge and I have lost the most this week.

Happy Saturday everybody! I changed by official weigh in day to Wednesday because that is the day that we all weigh in at the office for our challenge. I must admit that I did "peek" at my bathroom scale this morning. It is not all that accurate but gives me a good ballpark figure. There was not real change one way or the other, which I wasn't all that surprised at. Yesterday was not a great day for keeping up my fluids because I had the day off and spent it cashing in my Kohl's cash and Sears bucks (got some great deals: Gloria Vanderbilt jeans in A SMALLER SIZE for $3.99 and a Land's End wool jacket in a beautiful periwinkle blue for about 30 bucks!). I also had a $10 Staples rebate check and I used it to by an extra carbonator for the Soda Stream machine we got for Christmas (no longer drinking diet soda). I had packed up some almonds for my shopping spree, which I ate around 3:30, but by around 6:30 I was getting hungry, so I ended up buying a Quest bar at Trader Joe's (I ended up there looking for kombucha but couldn't find it). It was the cookie dough flavor. I was surprised that I found it too sweet! I know in the past I could have eaten it and would have wanted another right away. I bought a couple more but probably will just keep them in my glove box for emergencies. They are a bit pricey and though they say the net carbs are around 4 g, they do have a lot of sugar alcohol and I am not sure how my body will handle that. I don't want to kick myself out of ketosis for that.

Trying harder today to keep up with my fluids. Tonight the "freebie" train continues...I have a Ruby Tuesday Gift Card and my husband and I are going out for an early dinner. I already checked their menu and there are a lot of low carb options there.

Hope everyone has a great rest of the weekend!

Whew! Didn't think I would show a loss this week. We have an annual New Year's Day Open House (this was the 26th year!) and I do all the cooking. Since I hail from the south originally, I go back to my roots and have traditional black eyed pea dishes (for good luck) as well as greens. I also make a large spinach lasagne and a meat lasagne, and 2 huge oval crock pots of chili. We also have the typical nosh stuff like deli, vegetable, and fruit platters. We had hummus, chips, pita, Buffalo chicken dip, 5 layer Mexican dip, cheese, crackers, etc. I did not make any desserts but people brought stuff in. Lots of brownies, cakes, etc. I usually make sweet potato pies but I didn't this year because I would have been tempted to eat them.

Having so many people around (about 60 or so showed up this year) kept me busy and I only nibbled on veggies and ranch dressing while people were here. After they left, the last ones around 8pm, I sat down to eat a sandwich of meats and cheese on a homemade almond psyllium roll (net carbs 2.5g) while my hubby started the clean up. It was the first time I had actually sat down and boy did my feet and knees hurt!

I didn't weigh in yesterday because I knew I didn't hydrate well the day before and this usually causes me to, let's just say, be irregular. I made sure to drink lots of water yesterday and my system pretty much got flushed out (sorry, TMI).

Happy to start the New Year in the 220s! Good luck to everyone this year! Hope 2016 brings success to us all!
