I am 20 years old, 5'2" and about 164 lbs. I have never really dieted or counted calories in my life but I have never really enjoyed eating... I think part of why I am where I am now is a result of not wanting to eat as a child and constantly hearing "Are you aneorexic?" and "You don't eat enough to keep a bird alive". Beileve it or not constantly hearing that you are too skinny can have adverse effects just like hearing you are too fat. Thanks to not really having a desire to eat it is pretty easy to stick to a diet of 1200-1400 calories a day though so hopefully come July when my husband, daughter and I go to the beach I'll be able to wear a bikini without being self conscious.

I've been married to my wonderful husband, Matt, since June 13, 2008 (yes that was a Friday the 13th). And our beautiful baby girl, Noelani, was born on April 24, 2009. She is my greatest achievement in life and I am so blessed to be able to stay home with her. It is the hardest but also the best job I've ever had.

Never thought I'd be so excited to see the color orange!
Thanks! It is so nice to get to talk to people who are working toward the same goals that I am. I need to start getting on here more often again. I was getting so discouraged by all the time that was passing with what seemed to be no progress at all (ironically I think I was over dieting and restricting my calories too much, causing my body to retain everything I put into it Rolling Eyes ). I went back to what had been working for me and the weight started coming off again. That really helped with my optimism but even more so getting on here and seeing that others are actually succeeding helped immensely. It is such an inspiration to see others reaching their goals. It makes one's own goals seem so much more attainable. Congratulations to both of you on how far you have come!

k8yk you look wonderful in your after pic. I'm curious... How tall are you? I'm shooting for the 120 that society seems to view as the perfect weight but only because I'm so short that any more than about 130-135 is overweight lol. The 120 has always been just a ballpark figure though... just a number to put at the other end of my ticker because it is truly about how I feel and how I feel I look, not about the number on the scale. If 140 feels good to me than that's where I'll stay but if 120 still seems too big then maybe I'll go for 110. It is all about being comfortable in my own skin and, more importantly, being able to play with my little girl without getting tired 5 minutes in... And I definitely want to be around for her for a good long time.

I've never really been a big fan of the color orange but I think it might just be one of my new favorites now lol. At least until I hit yellow right? Laughing

I've given up on my goal of having that "bikini body" by the time we go to the beach next month (in just about... exactly 16 days. But who's counting? Lol it's my little girl's 1st real vacation so I'm a little excited.) and have reassessed my goals and now I'm hoping to have gotten 1/3 of the way to my goal by then. I've hit 1/4 today and it doesn't sound like much (but it is) but 4-5 more pounds between now and then will get me where I hope to be for the beach. I think that's pretty doable. Maybe even a little more. Trying to hold on to my optimism.

I have to say this... the new bikinis I bought (I was being VERY optomistic... then plateaued for more than a month) may not make it to the beach this summer but they are darn well going to make it there next summer. I now hope to reach my goal by Christmas/New Years but I don't think I'll want to go swimming in the ocean then lol
