So I had my Cholesterol and A1c Blood Glucose levels tested two weeks ago and got the test results back the other day. And they turned out pretty good!! My cholesterol is at 147 (supposed to be under 200) so that's good. My Good Cholesterol is at 42 (last time it was 27 which is really low and bad). So for the first time my good cholesterol is in normal range!! My triglycerides are still high at 202, but I've been told that people with diabetes usually have higher triglycerides. But they aren't skyrocket heart disease high. So that's good. But I need to lower them. But the best news is that I took my A1c from 7.2 to 6.5!! Which means I'm controlling my diabetes very well on just a diet, exercise and pills plan. I'm not on insulin so that's a bonus. And I don't have to go on insulin. YAY! I'm hoping to take my A1c lower the next time I have my test done in six months. If I get it below 6.0 that will mean I have reversed my diabetes!!! My therapist warned me that sometimes you can't reverse diabetes so not to get upset if I don't meet that goal, but I'm going to try. Might as well!! There's no harm in watching what I eat and being careful with my blood sugars.

Apparently you can raise your good cholesterol by working out. So I have to keep doing that to keep my good cholesterol up. My primary was so impressed by my number she wrote a note on my test sheet, "WOW! Great job!" And then she wrote some other stuff about staying on the same regimen of prescriptions and get retested in six months. But the "WOW! Great job!" Made me feel pretty proud. :)

I've also increased my workout at the gym. I'm going for an hour now. I workout on the weights for a half hour and then ride the bike for a half hour. But I do that every other day because I need to make sure I let my body rest from the weights every other day. So tonight I'll just be riding the bike for a half hour. But I might do the weights for a while too. I haven't quite decided. We'll see how I feel. I like doing weights. I didn't do any weights on Saturday so who knows. Maybe I will. I didn't work out on Sunday because I was up in Princeton visiting my sister. That was a good time. We played Yahtzee and Farkle again.

My weekend was really good. On Friday I worked out for an hour. Saturday I just rode the bike, and then came home and relaxed. Then Saturday night I went and saw Lend Me A Tenor at Eat Street Players with Sarah. My friend Matt was in the show. He was the lead character, Max. He did really well!! Then on Sunday I drove up to Princeton (about 45 minutes from me) to see my sister and my niece. It was a fun weekend.

Well, I'm down another pound!!! Had my weigh in Tuesday and I've lost another pound!! So now i'm down to 244lbs. Still not where I want to be but getting there. Slowly but surely. It's going to happen. I just have to have patience. As long as I keep losing weight I know I'll get to my goal someday. A pound a week might not be much to some people but it's a good way to lose weight for me. I'm quite proud of myself. :) Go me!

I'm bummed that I left my workout clothes at home yesterday so I couldn't go to the gym after work because I wouldn't have had time to go home, get them, get back to the gym and workout before my radio show. I was tempted to just buy new workout clothes at Target so I could workout, but I know that's not a good thing. LOL That would just be silly. I didn't get to workout Tuesday because I had my doctor appointments. So I haven't worked out since Monday. I was still sore yesterday anyway but still. I would have liked to workout for 30 minutes at least. I'll just have to do today, Friday and Saturday to get my four days in this week. I wanted to take Friday off but I guess I can't. I have a new routine anyway. I do 30 minutes of weight training and then fifteen minutes on the bike. And then I think I might add fifteen minutes on the treadmill. But it all depends on my Plantar Fasciitis. So that would mean I'll be at the gym for a total of an hour each day. Which isn't so bad. I like the weight training. It's fun. I feel like I'm actually doing something. Where when I'm on the bike it's hard to get a sense of if I'm actually doing something. I sweat and all but i'm not sore the next day or anything. With the weight training I feel it. And I like that. I like that a lot. I'm so glad my best friend showed me how to use all the machines!! I love using them. I feel like such a rockstar when I'm done for the night. :) I need a t-shirt that says that for when I'm working out...."Rockstar" lol How dorky am I??
