I went from 217 to 187 lbs (my current weight) in a 2 1/2 year period. But what helped me much was going to the Doctor in which I was diagnosed with a condition that pretty much prevents me to consume foods that contain potassium, high sodium, caffeine, chocolates and spices. Since following his advice I have been doing well. Pilates and Yoga has helped me when I feel down and with my flexibility. Taking Dong Quai has helped me feel positive. I am realistic with my goals but I am hoping that by next fall I am down to my goal of 140 (or 145 lbs). I am taking my diet and goals one day at a time. Sadly, what keeps me motivated is seeing old pictures of family members that were beautiful on their prime and after 40 they have let themselves let go. I DO NOT one to be like that ever. I want to feel good and be healthy, period. That way when I am 55 I can be proud at the fact I still feel great and look well and not reminisce of how one one point I was "good looking" when I was young. Life is too damn short. Letting myself let go is like giving up on life. I just do not want to give up.
