I have had a lot of changes in my life over the last few years. I went from about 156 down to about 128/129 and during the last 1 1/2 years My weight is back up to 143. I can blame the busyness of life or the changes that have occurred professionally and personally. The truth is, I can blame my lack of physical activity and poor eating habits on a lot of things. I let myself slack off. Personal/professional/hormonal Changes, exhaustion, stress, depression...One thing has ledd to another and I have allowed all of these to rule my life for the last year and a half. NO MORE!! It is time for me to take back my life and get back on track. I love this site. I have been a member before, but I couldn't remember my name or PW on here so I am starting out completely fresh. Seems appropriate. I will get back to doing what I did before and expect I will feel better before too long. I have selected the "Mediterranean Diet" since it comes closest to what I did before. I essentially try to eat high protein (animal and veggie), High fiber, and good fats. I do my best to severely limit SIMPLE carbs and processed foods. I concentrate on grass fed, organic, processed free foods to the best that my budget can afford. I also exercised 5-6 days a wk. I will make it a point to do something every day even if it's only stretching. I have found this works best for me. I am considered to be pre-diabetic and by using coconut sugar and Sucanat (Rapadura) and incorporating a cpl other changes, I had also been able to control my blood sugar. The biggest key is viewing my changes as a permanent lifestyle change. Not with a specific weight goal BUT a goal for healthier living. I have long life in my family. Quite a few have made it into their 90's. I could be around for another 40+ years. I want to preserve my health and enjoy life for as long as I can.
