Hmmm... let's see... what's the best excuse I can give for now being the heaviest I've ever been at 326 pounds? What? None? Dang.

I've been out of the loop for the last year on my weight loss. The last time I recorded anything on FS was two years ago. I remember that time well, actually. I was motivated, encouraged, excited, and eager for more changes! I was losing weight for myself and to be healthier (including the chance to improve my fertility). I ended up being successful in the latter! :)

My sweet son was born last year and throughout the pregnancy, I had only gained 18 pounds. Right after he was born, I dropped the pregnancy weight gain and was steadily back on track with dieting (for a lack of a better word). Then, two months later... chaos. I went back to work full time and my son stopped sleeping as much and between trying to balance family, friends, work, home, SLEEP!!, and the like, my health took a backseat. I overate to get energy for only getting 2 hours of *restful, uninterrupted* sleep at night. In an effort to spend time with my family and keep a clean home, I stopped cooking and preparing my meals and ordered take-out MOST if not ALL THE TIME. Fast forward one year and I'm back up to my original high weight plus 10 pounds.

I'm ready to start (ahem... again). This is for not only me anymore, but my precious son. He deserves a mama that can keep up with him and enjoy life with him. I want to be able to take him on "adventures" and go exploring with him one day (hiking, biking, swimming). I never, ever want him to be embarrassed by me or be the recipient of "yo mama's so fat" jokes.

It was encouraging to read my old journal entries and see how much weight I had lost and the renewed sense of self I had. My old habits and those consequences (300+ pound woman hyperventilating from walking up two flights of stairs) are back, but aren't going to stay. This site REALLY, REALLY helped me stay on track before and kept me accountable. I know I will have slip-ups. I know I will have cheat days. I'm not perfect. But, I don't have to be. I just have to be willing to try again.
