I am the mother of two children. I have never been skinny. I got married in 2008 and weighted 150. After having two children, my body changed. I managed to get back to 150 after my first pretty easy. Even after my second in 2011. However, when I began a sedentary job in November 2011, the pounds began creeping up. I managed to do the first month of INSANITY in January 2012, but quit on the break and never picked it up again.
In the summer of 2012 I went to see my family in Texas. I noticed how much I had gained then. I was 160-164 and I am only 5'1". I was officially in the obese category. My sciatica was acting up a lot and cause great pain after a little bit of cleaning such as cleaning the bathroom.
When I came back from Texas, I got a flyer in the mail for a weightloss contest in a local gym, really just a gimick, but it motivated me to join the gym. I had to keep track of my food in this program. This was the first time in my life that I made my health a priority and make it a lifestyle that I needed to stick to because of my health.
Some of the things that have been most useful to me are this website, Zen Labs Applications such as C25K and even their abs, push ups, and butts, and motivational stories on YouTube. I have fluctuated and bit and have also had some set backs with my knees and sciatica which is SO much better today! But I am still determined to get down to 130. I have thought about 120, but I think 130 is more realistic and I need to stay determined with small goals. That is how I got here, all the small things have made changes in my life.
