Totally went off diet yesterday. First real lapse, and it wasn't super bad. Had extra alcohol, a huge gyro at the local Greek festival, and a bowl of Doritos. Hope to find my inner strength today. :)

I made ramen from scratch by copying a local chinese restaurant. The owner had told me that he makes the broth from pork bones with onions and garlic and just boils it for a long time. So, I went to the new Vietnamese grocery store nearby, and was able to get a bag of pork bones--with some meat on them-- for .99 per lb. Boiled them slowly with a couple yellow onions and a bunch of garlic. Strained the broth and gave the bones to the dogs. So, it's bone broth. Then when I made the dinner, I only used a half of a noodle portion for myself, so that was only 110 calories. Then added some quickly stir-fried cabbage, shredded carrots (not cooked), some roasted corn, green onions, cilantro,5 ounces of marinated, barbecued chicken breast diced, and then some sweet Chinese chili oil for flavor. It turned out pretty good.
