Im 24 and I'm a IT consultant (application developer) which means I sit down 8 hours a day. I'm engaged to a wonderful woman, who also used to be overweight but lost it before I met her (i couldnt believe the change when I saw her pictures)
Im also pre-diabetic as of December 2011 and I am terrified of being diabetic. my mom and sister have eyesight problems from it and my cousin died of it in 2009. So I am extremely scared
Ive taken up boxing and mixed martial arts in an effort to get active. I also weightlift. Ive been yo-yo weightlost since August 2010. That month I lost alot of weight then put it back on. Then in Sept 2011 I lost, but stopped in Nov and gain alot back. Now Im at it again with some activities I enjoy so that I will keep up with my exercise. My gym mates are great (all men, im the only girl) and they are so encouraging and I love it.
Lets hope I can lose this.

Diabetic Dieting
I was just recently diagnosed as prediabetic and noticed that there are alot of snack and drinks out there for diabetics.
My mom lost over 100lbs following a sugar busters diet to where she didnt have to use insulin, just pills sometimes.
Im using glucerna products for my snacks and just following a regular but low sugar diet. Im afraid to be on insulin becausei i hate needles.
My gluclose level was running about 215 in the morning fasting and now im in the 180s and its continuing to decrease.
Any tips to how to get this under control? Im working out 5 days a week also.

What are some of your embarassing/emotional/eye opening reasons for loosing weight?
Well I gained alot over a year, and I realized I need to lose when I was heaving going up the stairs in my home. I was so out of breath in a few steps. Now I can walk up the stairs at hoem AND work. I also just want to be hot. My partner is a size 6 and goregeous and people look at us like were the odd couple. Gotta keep my girl.
