About Me
40yo female in the Seattle area. Just moved back up here from Portland. Fiance lives on the east coast. Work a lot. I'm an occupancy planner. I'm in school for Gerontology and Management so not a lot of free time. Two elderly kitties. I also study death and dying and I provide spiritual care at a hospital in Portland as an on-call chaplain every 8-10 weeks. If any of you are struggling with death, your own or someone else, please reach out. I'm happy to provide support. FYI... spiritual care is not necessarily about religion so please don't let your misguided image of "chaplain" scare you away. I am spiritual but not religious, though I support people of all religions without judgement.

My Body & Diet
My body has changed significantly. I have gained 40lbs. in the past three years and I have now reached a point that I am uncomfortable with myself. Right now, I just want to get down from the 270's into the 220's. I'll see what happens after that.

My goal is about getting fit. I have always wanted to be one of those people who exercises deliberately for 30 minutes per day, every day but Sunday. I have gone through phases where I did that but then something triggers me to fall off and then it takes forever to get back. Right now, I'm taking ridiculously tiny baby steps. Too much structure or goal setting is cause for me to give up and I just can't let that happen again.

Current Goals
Walk a little very day.
Do my best to make healthier choices at every meal.
Drink more water.

When those things become solid, I'll create bigger goals.

RDI question pertaining to this
Do you believe that information or are you skeptical like I am? I appreciate what doctors and nutritionists have to say but I find it very difficult to believe anyone that says one number can apply to women and one to men. Every person's body is different and that includes the number of calories one should consume. I lose weight at anything less than 1700 calories and I gain when it's over 1800. These numbers fluctuate, depending on how much I exercise.

P.S. Great job on your weight loss! Smile
