Tracking more than just calories helped me
I guess that is the next level. For me, the easier it is to stick to a plan the better. So I'm just sticking to counting calories for now. I spend enough time on the PC entering everything I eat. I don't have the inclination or motivation to start breaking down where the calories come from. I have a general idea of what is healthy and what is not and I'm going with that. Dieting should not only be for type A folks.

Stalling!
Also, try calorie cycling. That is, up your calories for a day or two a week then drop them down a gain. This is a trick for avoiding the dreaded plateau.

Optical Illusion or What?
I was thinking more along the lines of how an inflated balloon looks better than a deflated balloon. Will the flab ever go away? Am I going to have so see a surgeon if I drop 100 lbs?
