I've seen on the site that you can download the Calorie Counter from BlackBerry Apps to use when you are on the go. My problem? I can't find the application! I found one that says Calorie Count Nutrition Search, but it's only for Calories, and the Fatsecret website says the one they are advertising is for a lot more. Is anyone else using this app? Am I missing some important information. Maybe it's not available on my phone?

Tell me about it. I can't find it, either. I've looked everywhere and done every conceivable search. I contacted the admins but unfortunately they couldn't tell me what the problem is.
What kind of BB are you using? Mine is a Curve.

I too have tried to do this and no luck and I as well use the curve.... Maybe it's a curve thing!

Have you got access to App World? I believe it is only US & Canada for now and that's where I found the app, which (sorry) is awesome!

Nesa and I both have Blackberry Curve and we are in the US and have Blackberry App World, still unable to locate it. Stinks that it is "Awesome". Rub it in, please!

MGRAINER, what is the complete name of the application that you downloaded? I know they say it's called 'Calorie Counter', but is that what you found it under?

I have it on my phone, but I have a G1. I'm not sure it's available on the Blackberry. Anyway, it's fabulous.

The specific app we're discussing is a Blackberry app, so of course it's available for the Blackberry. Just maybe not the Curve. Ugh. And that's all well and good that the G1 app is nice, but it doesn't help the BB users in this thread. Isn't that a bit like saying "nice fork, have some soup"?
Yes, I'm using App World. I was under the impression that was the only place you can find it (I just followed the instructions given on the ad at this site). I'd be thrilled to learn it can be acquired elsewhere.
Maybe the admins will see this thread and help us out. Like I said, I've already contacted them and they were very nice but unfortunately unable to help, but now that I know it's not just me then it might be something they can figure out.

I got this from the BlackBerry forums:
If a phone only supports an OS of 4.6 or above the only devices that would work are the Bold, 8900 and Storm.
So I'm not sure if the Curve has an OS of 4.6 or higher and that is probably the reason. Time for an upgrade perhaps.

Dang! My phone is only six months old, and it was one of the better BB options for me at the time. I don't need to be able to get internet when I visit Finland or have a phone that cleans my bathroom and changes the baby, for god's sake. I throw it down the stairs all the time anyway.
Well, there's no way I'm buying a new $500+ phone just for this app, and so far this has been the ONLY thing I've needed/wanted that didn't work just fine. It would be nice if FS made an app that worked for more people, though, even if it were a simplified version.
Or...a mobile-appropriate page setting would be cool. Does anyone know if FS has one?

I've been trying to find the software too. I think the problem is that I need to upgrade the OS on my phone from 4.4 to 4.6, if it's available. I have an 8830 world edition. the web site doesn't work very well on the phone. It would be nice if they had a mobile format.

I don't know how to upgrade the OS, actually, but I hope it's possible.

I have it on my BB but it doesn't work. Every time I try to search for food or enter exercise (let alone "Sync" my account) I get an error message that tells me to try again later. Any hints? I have a BB Pearl Flip 8220. I have checked the websites and they all say that I have the right OS, so I can't figure it out!

I'm pretty sure that the problem has been determined to be an OS issue, for most people. Check what version of the OS you're using; if it's below 4.6, it probably won't work. If your OS is compatible, then something else is going on. Thanks to the people who helped us figure that out.

Thanks everyone! I have a Curve, and obviously, that doesn't work with the application. Darn it! Hopefully the application is just new, and they haven't opened it to everyone. But it would be nice if it does! For now, I guess I'll have to just rely on my laptop and desktop to update. Ugh! =-)
