Hello.

I am here to become more fit and trim.

I believe in self-discipline, motivation, and hard work.

Diets are wonderful tests of one's mettle, and I enjoy a good challenge. I've been on many diets, and each has been a fantastic learning experience. There's more to learn, so I diet and keep on learning.

I'm in my 70's, but there's still so much left I'd like to do, and I shall!

Thank-you,

A.Craye

I've been around long enough to know when I'm being unreasonable.

Yes, I diet a lot. And yes, I've gained and lost over the years. I own my actions.

As I am currently on a strict diet that I'd heard good things from a few old friends, I must confess it has made me a bit jumpy and irritable.

I wish to apologize for any ill-feelings I may have caused. I believe I will try a new diet if I continue to feel 'off'.

I have enjoyed the few messages exchanged with JUSTBREATHE, but there does seem to be something going on that's making these discussions seem a bit salty. Perhaps JUSTBREATHE is also on a strict diet like I'm currently on, and is feeling the effects as well. I don't know.

KANAN123, Please don't leave, dear. You seem so lovely and as SOOKI mentions, debate is good. Even if it becomes heated or if we are firm in our beliefs.

SHERIPICKLE, I've been dieting a lot longer than 50 years and I think that makes me knowledgeable about weight loss. Gain weight, lose weight, however many times the pounds have increased or decreased has given me valuable experience.

Maybe we're supposed to be heavy and then thin and then heavy again all through our lives. And what's age have to do with dieting? I expect I'll be counting calories until the day I meet my maker (which I hope will be a long time from now).

I'd ask an 'expert' about 'nutrition' or 'lifestyle changes', but there seems to be too many 'experts' on this site already to decide on just one.

Sooki, I believe I was misunderstood about K8YK's book idea. I don't think she should write one as she seems overly opinionated about 'eating properly and exercising for life'. Boring.

For each study on yo-yo dieting being harmful, I'm sure there are others that think it's a splendid idea.

Obesity in America
The reason for rising rates of obesity in America is a lack of discipline. Pure and simple.
