Sandy701's Journal, 24 April 2012

Walked 3.1 miles with 1 doggy this morning in the bright sunshine; 2nd doggy along for 2.4 miles. It's still cool, but warmer than the last 2 days and the wind is finally dialed back to a "steady breeze"!!

I'm slightly hungry on this Tweak of the Week, but nothing I can't handle and it's definitely less than I felt last week when I was eating 200+++ more calories per day! I've also been eating food that I'm classifying as "lunch" around 3-4PM, with a huge salad for "dinner," at 6-ish. If I get terribly hungry before bedtime, as I did one night, I eat a hard-boiled egg.

That huge salad for dinner reminds me of a time over 20 years ago when DH and I had dinner at his boss's home. The wife of the boss was probably in her 50's and had a huge salad for dinner. This gal was quite active (she had just taken up roller-blading!) and rail-thin (to my eye). Anyway, I remember thinking, "My gosh, is this how it's going to be when I get to that age? Only a salad for dinner to keep my weight down?"

Ah well, it is what it is.

I'll often have a huge salad for dinner too, either Greek or Caesar with grilled chicken. Congrats on another pound lost, WooHoo!!!!! You're getting so close Sandy, only 3 to go! Keep up the great work, you're truly an inspiration!

That's a great plan...if you like hard boiled eggs, those have always been hard for me to choke down. I always thought roller-blading sounded & looked like lots of fun...till I tried it! Those skates just killed my feet something terrible & that took all the fun out of it! Good job on the tweak attacks!!

Carol, the salad's not too bad esp. since I bought myself a great big glass bowl in a medium purple color. Liked it so much, I got another one plus 2 more in a cool shade of semi-lime green. When I put some more "exotic" lettuce in there with the romaine, well, it looks like it ought to be a restaurant salad! Presentation is everything...LOL!!!

GG....hard-boiled eggs can be really dry and hard to get down without choking! We try to catch them when they're more of a medium-boiled, so they're not quite so dry. Sometimes we get them just right....other times not so much....even with a color-changing timer in the water. I doubt that rollerblading will EVER be on my exercise list....too much potential for ending up in traction! Good for you for at least giving it a try!

I only use the white of the egg now, BUT to be honest throwing away the yolk is hard. Lol. The bowl idea is great. Great on weight loss

Thanks Carmel....I'd have a hard time throwing the yolks away....they're the best part!

PS - I read your comments - and I believe you realize I was just using you as an excuse. With me it doesn't take much.

Buffy...DH and I had a saying when we moved this last time: "...and it doesn't take much!" There are/were so many stresses when moving that sometimes just the slightest thing would ignite a larger-than-life response from me. We'd finally just laugh a bit (sometimes it would take a while...) and say...."and it doesn't take much." We'd both know that under all the stress, it just didn't take much to set us off. Will be anxiously watching to see what you'll be doing come Saturday.
