Penlan's Journal, 25 September 2017

Tired now after moving and re-stacking 120 bales of hay. Got up to the roof in the barn, needed ladders to get up and down. No bale elevator herwe! Moved the baler back under cover finally, painted the copings round the new fish pond, been bizzy today!

Tomorrow I see the cardiologist again, see if we can get to the bottom of this pain on going to sleep. No pain on strenuous exercise. Odd. Basically I need to destress. Easier said than done.

Weight has stuck again, maybe tomorrow it will start to ease. Not surprised after Sunday. Always seems to be a Sunday I slip. Sigh.

Not worried,I will get there. Not too fast, I don't wanna be a small girl in a big bag of large size skin.

That's weird with the pain. Does your mind race when you settle down to sleep though? Maybe you're right about needing to destress. How about a warm bath with smellies and some calming music (there's loads of meditative tracks on YouTube) before bed? 10-15 minutes to yourself relaxing each day could help. Take care and all the best!

It is really interesting, the ol' ticker thing. I am calm, and (I think) relaxed as I go to sleep. Doesn't happen if I am wound up before bed! As my heart slows down into sleep mode it goes painful. I don't think it is Bradycardia, but it could well be, I would need to be monitored for that to be picked up. That is exactly what happened in hospital, though I was on beta blockers - even 1.25mg was enough to get me under 40 bpm as I fell asleep. Not on Beta blockers any more, they were dangerous for me, even at the introductory dose. I have also had the pain when I have been stressed, even a little thing like choosing a coat can get me. ... I can get my head round that, but going to sleep? then of course I start to get stressed and bingo, cycle starts again. I don't reckon they will have a clue :) I always have been a bit of a paradox.

Hi Penlan, I think now a days we all live with stress of some form or other, most can coup with it while others will be climbing the walls. The fact that you have an undiagnosed problem with your body will add stress and anxiety even if you think you are dealing with it really well. I hope you will get an answer soon so that you can get on with your life. Good luck and take care of yourself. P.S. Baggy skin is definitely not a good look 🤓👊🏻

Cardiologist = waste of space. Baggy skin = waste of space. Life can only get better :D

Could it be your bed or something other than your heart. Settling down in bed is when you'd expect pain to stop. I get extra pain from my fibro if I lie on my back - the muscles are so very tender by bedtime.

Minitata, the pain could be, but it feels exactly the same as when my heart was bad, after they put me on beta blockers. The heart was going so slow it was not getting enough blood to itself through the blockage. But, hey ho. I will do the treadmill test, which I am sure will be fine, I can do hard exercise now. I am not too worried now, the pain has eased this past 3 or 4 weeks, I just went along to the appointment anyway, to see what they said. Wish I hadn't now, all they seem to want to do is medicate me!
