Penlan's Journal, 06 September 2017

Carefully does it I worked out that I had space for a measure of gin or two. And balanced with whipped cream... this morning I realise I fell 200 killers short of my daily goal of 1500. I was well tiddly on two shots, my builder commented that I was a REALLY cheap model to run ;) At the Nisi party last week he commented that I was an 'economical model', getting more than tipsy on not much at all.

But I jest, it is not about the gin, it is about eating good food and making sure all the boxes are ticked, none of them in excess or deficit. It can be easy to lose sight of that.

I miss my avocados. My abusive ex hangs round the store where I used to buy them wholesale, a couple or more kilos a week. I don't want to run into him so have kept away. Supermarket avos are just not the same, all thumb pressed and knocked about, and way more expensive!! Still, one day I will return to MY life and not be so scared of bumping into him.

Not too familiar with the updated FS style yet, no buddies any more - when did that happen!! Just followers and following. Feels more like being stalked than buddified. And I can easily add pictures - ooh. Am I limited to pictures of food and drink? Let's see. This is Bob, one of my old ewes (15 1/2 years old) who nearly finished me off by my efforts to keep her alive. She now lives in the lane and round about the place and terrorises the dog when she sees him with her one eye. We call her Zombiesheep, bits hanging off all over the place. She is doing well. She is here incredulous that there is a car INSIDE the van. ...

Do you not have someone you could ask to go buy the Avos for you or is it a place you need to be a member of? ZombieSheep made me LOL 😂

Ooh, good idea, I do have friends who shop there and could pick me a box up. Thanks :) Sometimes I am a bit dim. I blame the stress. ...

When you've tried to keep things to yourself for so long sometimes it's hard to see simple things others could do for you that will help a lot. Stress doesn't help either, it's true. Have a great day!

You know what? I decided not to be terrorised by that man and went to the shop and bought my 2 kilos of avos. Along with other stuff, came to over £54. The shop owner commented she hadn't seen me in a ling time, she knows what's been going on and asked if I was ok. I told her I had kept away for fear of bumping into him. She said he had been hanging around a lot. I was lucky. I got rather too many very sweet cherry vine tomatoes, 2 1/2 kilos. And another 2 kilos of regular toms. I know I shouldn't, but figure those kind of carbs have to be ok. I feel worthy, I got leaves aplenty too :) Thanks for the support :D

Great move! Those tomatoes sound good - are you going to oven roast some? Maybe with garlic and olive oil, rosemary and basil or thyme to eat with cheese (drooling a bit here! 🤤). Those are definitely the right sort of carbs in my book as long as you don't over do them. Take care!
