Still hovering one pound above my goal like a low-flying airplane. This journey has got to come in for a landing here sometime soon!

I haven't been as careful as I should about the diet lately, have allowed myself too many little cheating snacks, I think. And I really haven't had enough exercise. Although my job involves a lot of sitting, I get a little exercise each day in my walk to and from work (about 15 mins each way) and other little misc. walking around. But, it's not a consistent work out plan like I had this summer, when my weight loss was newer and going much faster.

One change I've decided to make is inspired by Barbie_doll922's brief morning "wakeup workouts." For me they will have to be in the evening after kids go to bed, rather than in the morning, but I will incorporate more core strengthening exercises each day. Really only takes 15 minutes or less to do 2 sets of sit ups, crunches, leg lifts, planks, etc. (I have a routine from when I was working with a personal trainer.) I know it's not directly related to weight loss, but I think it will help me feel more fit, which is what I'd like.

I did my first set tonight. My trainer had said that it's fine to do these every day, our bodies don't need recovery time from the abs workouts in quite the same way that they do from other types of strength/weight training. I probably won't do every day, but will do these at least 3x a week.

There, now it's in writing... I have to follow through on it. Right? :)
131.0 lb Lost so far: 39.0 lb.    Still to go: 0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

I like the change you've made with the workouts. I'm grappling with the exact same stuff and was doing well up until about three days ago when I began losing steam for some reason. Today I'm determined not to go to bed before I do *something.*

Maybe your plane hasn't landed because your landing gear is not down yet! You are so close - keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Well, I think you are just fine hovering a couple of pounds over your weight. I've been reading and experimenting with isometrics (Peterson). I like the idea of being able to do them anywhere and anytime. Take your time Herbie, that way you are guaranteed a smooth landing. No rush. :-)
