Feeling under the weather last night and this morning. My diet has been pretty shit since starting this cut. I mean, I keep it good in terms of calories but it has mostly been protein bars and shakes. I've been cutting hard since March and it is wearing thin. The hardest part isn't the food though. It is the brain fog and lack of productivity that is really bothering me.

I haven't considered coconut oil. What would be a good way of consuming it? In tea or coffee?

Yes, or in salad dressing, or to fry in. MCT oil is the bomb-diggity for brain fog and energy issues. WalMart carries it in the oils section, as "Liquid Coconut Cooking Oil". I've been adding a Tbs to my coffee in the morning, and Bazinga! Clear head, energy to the roof and no hunger!

I cook chicken breasts in it and serve them over a tiny bit of brown rice. Really good. Make sure you are getting plenty of fresh veggies. There are so many preservatives and other junk in those bars and shakes... Maybe try some juices to balance? Home made of course.

Real food man! Forget the shakes and bars! Get yourself some grass fed steak, wild-caught salmon, pastured eggs and creamy cheese! Nuts and dark, dark chocolate. Lots of dark green veggies cooked in grass fed butter and yes coconut oil. If you use MCT, start out slow and blend it into your coffee with some butter - it's better if emulsified. You'll feel better when you eat food that's closer to the sun.
