Diet: Intermittent Fasting 5:2 (5 days normal eating 1850-2000 calories, 2 non-consecutive - 24 hr fasts) Daily eating window average noon-8 pm.
Starting weight: 222.8 5/16/16
Weight loss to date: 17.4 lbs, 7 wks @ average 2.5 lbs a week

It's interesting to have a diet change that you're actually enjoying AND is effective. No food is off limits so I'm not dealing with cravings at all. If I want a particular item I just have to balance it against my carb ceiling of 60 nc. If I stay under that number I lose weight and am not hungry. I am eating a wide variety of summer fruits, vegetables, meats, nuts, cheese and some home made yogurt from whole milk that has been fermented longer than 24 hours to eat up the lactose content for probiotic health. In fact I'm generally not hungry even while fasting and my body is feeling better all the time.

Every time I am fasting (and my daily overnight fasting of 16 hours) my body is entering repair mode. My Celiac/wheat based, intestinal issues are healing. Not to be too TMI, but I can see it in the finished stool. For years I bragged about how easy it was for me to eliminate and only recently realized it was because I was passing high volumes of undigested food and that was continually damaging my digestive system. It had progressed to becoming an unpredictable bout of the "runs" once a week or so. I would postulate that the undigested food meant my body was not getting the nutrition I needed even though I have eaten very, very healthy for over a decade - so my body was "hungry" all the time and sent "feed me" signals that made me constantly craving food. Now that my food is now fully digesting I'm "hungry" when it's appropriate, it's not "craving hunger."

I can also see the benefit of intermittent fasting in the quality of my skin. It's actually reversing the thinning/aging and looks younger, thicker and more firm. The crepe tissue feel of my hands is almost completely gone and my turkey neck has disappeared as well.

205.4 lb Lost so far: 6.6 lb.    Still to go: 40.4 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

I am so glad this is working so well for you. I assume you are doing 16:8 IF on the food days, and then two 24 fasts as you wrote. Fabulous progress.
