Fat fast day 4. Seems to be moving but really slow for a fast. Also knowing that usually half of it comes back.... I plan on trying through Saturday. Yesterday was pretty hard and honestly I am expecting today to be harder. In the past day 4 is the hump and it's smooth sailing after that.

Everyone in my house is sick so I can lay pretty low just taking are of them...

I loved the fat fast! When I transitioned back to LCHF didn't gain any back! Be careful tho, 5 days is max recommended....

What's a fat fast?

Bonny- Here is a little bit about it. For more detailed instructions google fat fast. Lots of info about it! Simply put, an Atkins Fat Fast consists of a 3 or 5-day cycle in which you consume just 1,000 calories a day. 90% of those calories should come from fat. (a Fat Fast should not be extended beyond 5 days because it is deficient in protein.) Dr. Atkins states that eating 4 or 5 mini-meals is better for getting our bodies into ketosis than eating one large meal while doing a Fat Fast. During a Fat Fast you may consume either four 250-calorie mini-meals or five 200-calorie mini-meals. Consuming these small meals frequently throughout the day actually works better than complete fasting. Dr. Atkins mentions cream cheese and macadamia nuts as the “perfect” Fat Fast foods. Ten ounces of cream cheese would be an entire day’s food allotment; divide the cream cheese into five 2-ounce servings. You could also opt for 5 ounces of macadamia nuts split into five 1-ounce servings and consumed throughout the day.

When I do it I find it MUCH easier to eat 1-2 larger meals. When I did smaller ones I was starving! Also I have read differing info about how long is safe... Last year I did 10 days and felt amazing!!!! The hardest part for me is day 3 and 4. After that I really liked how I felt. Now I am a female and often average around 1300-1400 calories a day, so 1000-1100 isn't a huge drop.... The thing I really like is that I feel so clean and light... If that makes any sense? Also I love not having to worry so much about what I eat because I stick to pretty much the same stuff. It's like a little vacation from the grind of it all...

I noticed on your food log you are taking in a little more protein than I did. I think that helps with keeping your muscle mass from decreasing, therefore going longer....?

RcKc, well I'm sure I don't have it down to a science yet!!!;) Everytime I think I have it all figured out something changes! I am only doing 6 days this time. We have a family dinner Sunday and I think that I want to partake!

Meli, I didn't mean to come off that you are doing it "wrong". I am quite a bit older than you and worry about my muscle mass, as I don't have that much to begin with!

RcKc, I appreciate the feedback, no offense taken. I am definitely still learning.

Congrats on the loss!!! I follow an LCHF diet through Diet Doctor.com too. Through his website I found Dr. Jason Fung. I have been reading and listening to him a lot. He is an authority on fasting and the etiology of obesity. It is amazing the misconceptions we have been brainwashed with. It is not about calories in calories out or the amount of exercise you get, it is all about insulin! How our bodies process the food we take in or what it does when we fast. I highly recommend you check it out. He is also on Facebook with a great community!
