Well, today is a new day and I'm starting fresh!
A month ago, I had a nearly flawless Phase One experience. I felt GREAT. My clothes were getting loose, my face looked thin, I was running everyday and feeling healthier than ever! I felt like I could NEVER eat "junk" food again. (Ewwww!)
Well, then I fell off the wagon, and I fell HARD. It started with some frozen yogurt one night. Then some chocolate chip cookies, then sharing some sourdough toast with hubby, that turned into wine, that turned into a big pasta dinner...follow that with some icecream...you get the picture!
Basically the past 3 weeks have been a horrible BINGE-FEST! Like, out of control and SO out of character for me! I also have not been running at all.
First I blamed it on being "that time of the month" then my kids got sick, then I got sick... one thing after another. I felt like I was in some kind of crazy depression or something. YUCK!
Also, a few days after my phase one (when the cheating had already started) I weighed myself in the middle of the day with clothes on and the scale said 148. I was upset (I started at 155) that I hadn't lost more. WELL... I weighed myself this morning and... 158!!!
OMG, I suck.
I'm sure a bunch of it is bloated water weight from eating CRAP for 3 weeks straight, and hopefully it will come off quickly.
I'm totally determined again! So, today October 15th, 2007 officially starts my Phase One, Take Two... Here I go!

My "story" is similar to yours. On the program phase 1 5 weeks = summary, down 5 pounds then up 3 for a total of 2 lbs lost over 5 weeks. I have trouble not with carbs, but too great a quantity of food so maybe we can be buddies on phase I, round 2? I don't want to get to feel like weight loss is hopeless for me!!!

Michelle, Sorry to hear that you fell off the wagon...at least you didn't break any limbs!! Remember that when you weigh yourself you should always do it first thing in the morning without clothes. If you do happen to weigh yourself with your clothes on you should deduct 3-4 pounds from your weight, depending on what you are wearing. Anyway, welcome back to phase 1. I think sometimes we need to go a little crazy with our diet to really make us change our ways. You'll get back into it and the weight will come off. Remember to be happy with the small dips in your weight as well as the large ones. Any drop is a good drop!!

Congrats for returning to your diet. We all know how hard it is to stay on a diet and I'm sure we all find ourselves cheating here and there once in a while and maybe even giving up. The important point is that your back and if you do have an episode where you cheat, well get right back on the plan. Set little weight loss goals and each time you achieve that goal reward yourself, not with food but well clothes or jewelry or a manicure or something like that. It will make you feel even better. Good luck to you and to all of us.
