I am a new Diabetic just placed on insulin. I am also new to Fat Secret. I am trying right now to be honest with my food, calories, and carb intakes. I have actually already lost 7 lbs since January 4th, but I have so much to lose! Does anyone have any ideas about where to go for information about dieting/weight loss for a Diabetic? I HAVE TO watch carbs because they inpact my insulin, so I am focusing and learning about them first. I have already learned that French Fries and Fast Food are NOT my friend. In fact, they are the enemy. Actually, I am the enemy, but they are my downfall, my weakness, my achilles heel. Anyway, any advise on how a diabetic looses weight while watching/controlling insulin?

Have you looked into low-carb diets? Since you're on insulin I would discuss it with your doctor first to get a plan in place to support it. If you simply go on a low-carb diet without discussing how to handle your insulin it could make you hypoglycemic.

Welcome MaggieEllen! Have you done a search here for Diabetics Groups? I seem to recall a few discussions from a while back. I'm not sure how active any groups or discussions might be - but I know there was some information and dialog about foods that are beneficial vs The Enemy! You can and WILL do this MaggieEllen.

welcome maggie! lots of terrific supportive people here on all kinds of different meal plans. i see you're logging your food, that a great start, keep doing that. you can also log your daily exercise, too. if you have questions, throw them out here and you'll probably get lots of responses. as Vickie said, find some diabetic groups for support specific to your condition. hang in there, you can do this and get healthy!!
