LOL Saige18 :D :P I'm not even looking at the 100kg mark as yet. The 105kg goal is just 1.9kg away now :) I love that I'm able to lose weight at my own pace and not give up the pleasures of life. Think I'll eat some cake today to celebrate :D

oh yeah i meant to ask, do you know of anything to use for sore muscles...you know that feeling you get when u've worked out a muscle after like a year and the pain is really intense because u prob over did it lol.......know of anything that can be applied to that?

Ibiza122 I use a spray like Deep Heat for muscle soreness for temporary instant relief. There's a few varieties of them available and I found that the ones that come from India/China are also very effective. It gives you an intense burning feeling on the muscle for an instant relief. Then I found the generic Voltaren tablets called Mylan Dyclofenac very effective to reduce inflammation that causes pain in the muscle. I just take 2 of those before I sleep and the muscle pain is gone by the next morning. The tablets are very cheap, its under R20 for a box at Clicks or Shoprite pharmacy.

Well done Big Boy! U are an inspiration!! Ibiza122: I used to use L-Glutamine for sore muscles. Within 45mins after workout. And if u know it's gonna be a tuffy before hand; take some b4 workout aswell. It just takes the edge off of the recovery.

thanks :) i use the dyclofenac yeah because my dad says it has the same active ingredients as voltarin the only diff is that one is patented lol so who am I to argue with a doc....he wouldn't however give me any advice on how to get instant relief lol as he says I should just suck it up so ur comment really helped....I'll go have a look at clicks for a spray later as I'm having trouble moving my triceps

I have sum Glutamine at home from when I used to gym often, am just getting back into the stride of things now so will have sum, also @skinny, do u think that leucine would help with recovery?

Thats a great tip about the Mylan Dyclofenac. Sore muscles are no fun. And it's especially cool that its so cheap. Must remember that. Have any of you tried any of the BCAA supplements. Apparently they contain leucine, isoleucine and valine. I know of somebody who gives it to her boys before a regatta to prevent sore muscles and apparently it really works.

bcaa's do work, they are a combination of amino acids and help with the repair of muscles by helping stimulate protein synthesis, they arent particularly helpful if you dont consume enough protein
