You might be like me. I can't even look at carbs without gaining lol. What I've learned, through experience, that carbs turn to fat. So I follow a "high protein, low carb" "diet". I don't even call it a diet because the food's so darn good lol. If you need any recipes, I'll be happy to give you some :). I wish you luck!

My weight went no where for the longest time, I also gained. I worked out at the gym, biked 400 miles over the summer and nothing! I made a couple of changes. My workout for one. Instead of wandering aimlessly to various machines I now do circuit training with weights, for my cardio workouts I do intervals. The other big change, my diet. I was heavy on the carbs and fruits with little meat and veggies. Now, most meals I have a healthy protein, a healthy fat and fruits and/or veggies, occassional bread/cereal. I still eat breads/cereals like before a workout but it's not the main food of my diet like it used to be. My carbs went from 225g a day to 150 to 175ish. I also dropped refined sugars/foods. I try and keep my fiber intake to be 35-50g a day (with a supplement if necessary). I'm now losing and I feel very healthy. Good luck to you. Just don't give up, keep working til you find what works for you.

For me carefully and honestly counting calories was the key. If you enter every little morsel of food you eat into the food diary and every activity you do into the exercise diary, and make sure that your activities end up greater than your food, you will loose 1 pound for every 3500 calories you are under. It does not matter what you eat, but if you eat the wrong foods (carbs, etc.) you will always feel hungry and be hating life. For me counting calories made me naturally gravitate towards foods that were right for me. Check out this article, just for laughs:
