Well, imagine that; turns out overeating on a daily basis, working 14 hours a day and not getting any exercise is bad for the diet.
Nearly five pounds in one week is very painful to post. I've been searching all morning for a way to avoid it, but I guess I just have to face the ugly truth. It's quite a wake-up call. I am committed to getting back on track from today. I've been pretty lax ever since I got back from vacation and this past week's disaster is just the culmination. So, back to the gym, back to the program and on with the rest of my life.
229.7 lb Lost so far: 35.3 lb.    Still to go: 49.7 lb.    Diet followed poorly.

OUCH! That is a painful thing to behold, Alan. Having this reality jolt can spur you into action! A little damage control is needed to stop the bleeding NOW. There's a lesson to be learned here and you've learned it very well. I have great faith that you can get back on track. YOU know that you can do this!! GOOD LUCK, my friend!

I,m right there with you (except I had to log in a 20 lb increase since mid July). I am also ready to get serious again so lets band together and support each other to get where we wont to be, starting now.

Pam, I really appreciate the encouragement. It's at times like these that buddies are invaluable. Now that our Summer Intensive Course is finished, I've got two months with no distractions I can foresee, so I'm absolutely committed to get back to it. Thanks!

Ron, dude, I feel a quarter of your pain. That's is a tough number to face up to, but you're right, we've got to get serious. You really don't want to see 200 again. And I'm thanking the gods for that third of a pound that kept me from hitting 230. I've got a couple of months of smooth sailing, as far as my work schedule goes, which should help. We've really got to come up with something to help you maintain the next time you get crazy busy.

Well hurry up because I go back to Alaska to work a week in this weekend. All kidding aside I am going to talk to my doctor about it. I do fine when I'm supervising with normal hours and can maintain while supervising at long or abnormal working hours (But takes much more effort). But when I'm self-performing work at long hours I can not control my body's desire for calories and especially in the form of sweets. On a good note, I know that some of that 20lbs is muscle growth. I have hung over 30 thousand lbs of sheet-rock this month among other strenuous work activities (My forearms look like Popeye's) Now that's not saying much for a sheet-rocker but it's a lot for this old man superintendent.
