madanjen's Journal, 13 April 2015

Didn't watch what I ate, rode my bike a lot, did some weight training and stayed the same. Not totally overjoyed but considering that I may not have eaten the healthiest, I am good with the outcome. This week I am REALLY shooting for 210 or lower.

I find that if I track my nourishment at least 3 days a week, I will either lose some or not gain any weight. I guess it's my lifestyle changing somewhat so that is really the ultimate goal isn't it?

What are your goals for the week?
Lose weight?
Gain muscle?
Go on that hot date?
213.0 lb Lost so far: 56.0 lb.    Still to go: 48.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

i love the statement on your PIC….for years i was a fitness Fanatic but I over ate. Not always bad foods but i used to think I ran 7 miles and I could TREAT myself!!! WRONG…WRONG…WRONG. What happened i BECAME VERY VERY FIT….but FIT FAT was what I was. (yes one can be fit and fat)…. Primal rule-- What goes into ONES mouth means everything!

What you intake really matters Raidersfan. One of my weaknesses is red wine. So I limit this because we need good fuel. I will soon begin eating 5 or 6 small meals a day after meeting a friend who is really fit.

I also believe tracking is the key. It now keeps me on track, no way do I want to gain the pounds lost back. I know mine will go over today so even it out for the rest of the week. It helps me pay attention.

Can anyone tell me how many calories an ounce of Yams has? I am looking for the calories for a RAW yam and this site only shows cooked, unless I am mistaken.

I believe if you type in yam the first one that just says yam is raw. I'm not disputing just asking a question. Do you really have a yam ? they are hard to find in the US> most of the ones labeled yam are sweet potatoes. You can find yams sometimes in ethnic markets.

What doesn't kill u, makes u stronger

These are yams. Huge and really ugly looking. I go the a market owned by some Persians who have really different food than most markets. And they are very reasonable in price. Thanks for the tip Wholefoodnut.

Cool, real yams!! I bought some at an oriental market awhile back they were really good, not sweet like sweet potatoes but very nice. I haven't seen any since. I love trying different foods I find in ethnic shops.

Just had 6 oz baked Yam with a little Blue agave syrup. Nice healthy dessert.

YUM!! I often have sweet potatoes or acorn squash for desert, no sweetener as they are already so sweet. Just a bit of butter.
