Katsolo's Journal, 19 August 2023

Down for the week even with the birthday sundae and other cheats that day. Proof that consistency overall will outdo an occasional splurge. The macro switch up will continue, i think, although protein goal just got adjusted up an additional 9 g. For the most part, it’s been easy to stick with the plan, although there have been hunger days after a harder workout and i do eat more at that point. Next week will be the tell as i don’t have any events planned that might derail me.

Today’s workout: sandbags and related stuff. Big storm coming, will be interesting. They were out of tarps at the store so we’ll be improvising a little in some areas of concern. I’m also installing the fasteners on the pool cover. Little gusts, no big deal, but if it really hits 75mph, that’s a big wind.

Alright, enough fun and games. Time to get moving. BF is helping so should be all good. I took him on one of my walks last night and we sat and watched the sunset in one of my favorite places. Calm before the storm. The pink clouds to the east were gorgeous too, but i didn’t get any good shots of them. That’s what memory is for.

Gonna be a weird one, so don’t know if weekend rules apply. We’ll see. Don’t know about swimming, i did unfold the treadmill in case i need to walk indoors.

That's a great shot! I pray it's just a little wind, and I bet those sandbags will make up for the swim! Congrats on your scale victory!

Was it your birthday, Kat? If so, I'm sending a big belated Birthday hug to you! Beautiful light in that sky. Hope the storm that follows is a mild one! xxx

I hope you stay safe with a historical weather event heading your way. I've heard some reports saying it's possible a year's worth of rain could fall in some areas. I shouldn't feel any impact t way up north from you, but hoping for some rare summer rain

We are spending the day getting ready for this storm. It seems like it’s gonna hit you a little harder so you’ll be in my prayers cause I care about you a lot!! I wish you lived closer I have tarps. Mainly hanging off the roof as we never fixed them from the last storm.😆 As you stated it will be a very interesting day to live through tomorrow. May affect electricity so make sure your flashlights work. Make sure you have popcorn to enjoy.😋👍🔦🔦🔦

Done with the roof stuff. I can see some Navy ships off the coast which is unusual since the only thing south is Mexico. Guess they decided to get some of them out of port. The air is still and heavy. Hoping it moves through quickly so we don’t get too much flooding. This doesn’t feel like an east coast hurricane. There no arms or lines visible yet.

Close to midnight, can’t sleep. Just waiting. Closed almost all the windows, trying to decide if i want to run the AC, but it sucks up a lot of power and if i go to battery, it’ll drain it too quickly. Strange problems.

Stay safe Kat, I've been through a few hurricanes. I assume you've taken in patio furniture and anything else that could become a flying projectile. Lightning can also be a hazard, especially for tall trees, a direct hit can cause a tree to explode, with debris flying everywhere.
