Steady. It's funny. I know I can do this. I know I've said this before, but often what gets in our way is confidence. I know I can do it any time I want, but that belief also makes me less likely to do so because I can do it any time. Why bother being strict with myself today? Because that confidence is my excuse to not bother. That's why!

Very interesting! Please accept this advice from someone who had gone through this too many times to count - the older you get the harder it gets. Don't push your luck by digging yourself into a hole you cannot climb out of.

Listen to the lady NM.... I recall you telling someone yesterday to lose it now and not wait. Something we've all thought.... I can do this, no hurry.

I have to agree with Buffy Bear. I am 68 and have spent many years trying to diet. Always had the idea that I could start tomorrow and just knock off the pounds and did. But there comes a time when it ceases being easy. She is right NOW is the time while you are still confident that you can. Time has a way of robbing our confidence.

right - when in reality if I wait til I FEEL like making the change it will never happen... because I will never feel like doing that hard work in the present. The lie for me was that some time off in the future I would FEEL like sacrificing so it was OK to not sacrifice "right now". But it turns out "right now" is the only time we have any power in. Identifying that lie was crucial for me and remains crucial every day in maintenance. I've seen so many people come back on here having "gained it all back and more..." I suspect that starts with falling for the lie again.

I agree. I'm on it ladies - and the gender neutral Right-Now-Or-Never. I'm on it. The issue for me is, I've got 15 pounds I want rid of. It can take me 10-12 weeks, or it can take 6 months. I think I'll choose 10-12 and then it's outdoor weather. :)

I won't do the bodybuilding 'bulk' again. It will be much easier to watch my step, check the body fat, and peel off the pound or two I don't want over a week and then get back to maintenance. No promises at Christmas. :|
