Couldn't wait to weigh. Didn't quite eat right last night & wanted to see what it did to me. Evidently it was ok because I still had a good loss. Whew! It dawned on me this morning that I am going to have to start shifting the way I think about what is normal if I am going to maintain whatever I lose. Right now it feels temporary & this has to be normal from now on. Oh, there will be little tweaks along the way as I lose, but I keep looking at food that I always loved to eat & think that one day I'll get to eat them again. WRONG. Mind shift here. If it weren't for commercials & signs, I probably would never miss or even think of most of them. I guess that's what advertisements are for. May have to give up television. :o)

Mind shift is important...and re-framing way we talk helps. BOTH are a process and it is obvious you are definitely developing new ways to think about and relate to food. Keep on Keeping on !!!!!!

I agree, changing the way we think about food, our weight loss, and lifestyle as it relates to that is a process and takes time to really sink in. I've been at this since last May and it's really starting to sink in for me. IMO that doesn't mean you have to give up things you really enjoy eating, but you do have to learn to eat those things in limited amounts, maybe on occasion, and also adjust your eating right away if you do go off track and over indulge one day. Of course some eating plans do restrict items and if you're doing that it would cut some things out. I'm finding planning ahead, especially when there's an event planned that will be a challenge or obstacle, is important.
