G'Morning 🌞

The trend is still upward, but not by a bunch. I'm reposting this graphic to help me keep my head in the game...at least most of the time 😉 I'm still writing down what I eat each day, but I haven't been entering the data into FS, so the macros are probably out of whack. I KNOW I'm struggling in the evenings, with snacking while watching TV. Now that fresh fruit is no longer readily available at the store (at an affordable price), it's WAAAAY too easy for me to make poor choices from the pantry.

Trying not to stress out over it tho, cuz I know that's not helpful. I'm still doing some form of exercise about every day: yoga, YouTube vids, Yes 2 Next vids, treadmill, strength training with light weights, etc. Even just upping my NEAT calories burned can help me feel better.

Thinking of how we're all setting goals, developing good habits, staying positive...I wish you ALL the best today & every day!! 💙🙋🏽‍♀️💙

I know what you mean about fruit! I had thought about buying a cantaloupe, but not at $6! You never know for sure if it will be good or not. I still buy 4 or 5 bananas and I love pineapple so much I'll pay the $5 for a container of spears. I don't worry about macros - just protein and watch the fat and carbs but don't focus on either

I hear you about the snacks - I have cases of seltzer that I drink if I feel snacky. It cuts down a little bit. Definitely working on a goal too

You'll reel it in, CrystalJo 😊 Since I stopped tracking, I've had some missteps here and there. It's like when the baby quits clinging to the couches and starts taking steps into the middle of the room. He's gonna fall on his butt a few times before he masters it 😂

Fresh foods are ridiculously expensive! I eat a lot of veggies and those are even getting hard to buy!💜

I’m so grateful that here in PA we have discount grocery stores . I just got 12 quarts of strawberries,( nice looking berries, not super sweet), for 99 cents a pound. But even with that, it’s so important to be mindful! I easily overate on strawberries! Keep your head on straight and take lil steps in the right direction. You’ll get this. You know you can do it.don’t let temp setbacks totally derail you. Hope you’re still off the cigs. That is very worth it! Keep going.

How about fruit in season? I started buying pears by the bag & I leave 3 out on the counter in the fruit bowl. I know food overall is elevated in price, but I have to have it for breakfast. I do have some snack go tos that aren't too high in calories if you eat a reasonable serving. Night time isn't my problem, maybe cause we eat dinner between 7:30-8:00. Afternoon is my weak time.

writing, you have a good point! I still buy fresh vegetables and fruit but my go to fruits are apples and oranges cuz they last a long time. Same with carrots and radishes.💜

Fritzy 22💙Thanks so much for your encouragement today! I happened to come across some strawberries on sale and was delighted to get them to have with morning yogurt! I'd been relying on grapes, strawberries, and apples every day during the summer/fall months. The best grapes are gone now (just little 'tart' bombs available😜) I cut the apple up for evening snack and nuke till softened (I have trouble chewing raw fruit/veggies) with a touch of cinnamon & brown sugar blend Splenda. Guess I need to start buying smaller apples!!! My portions are out of proportion🤣🤣

abbadabba💙I really appreciate you stopping by! The snacking is directly related to stopping smoking 🚬. I need to dig out my list of 'alternative choices' when the urge strikes...it's just so easy to grab food as a knee jerk reaction🦿 but starting TODAY I'm gonna choose to do something else from the list! (Wish me luck🤞🏽)

writingwyo💙You are SO right about the baby steps and landing on our butts analogy! But I absolutely LOVE your "reel it in" encouragement 🎣!!! That's exactly what I need to be doing, and it's gonna help me to picture that fishing pole in my hand throughout the day! Thanks!!✨

Diana💙SO nice to hear from you today! I sure do wish I could just gnaw away on veggies throughout the day...but these dang ill-fitting dentures don't allow me to. Can't afford new ones, so I gotta double down on getting inspired to steam veggies for a quick snack. In the meantime, I've got V-8 juice in the fridge.🤗

lastisbest💙YES!! Not one puff since Dec. 1st! 🚭 You're right...I KNOW I can do this! I've done it before. But this is entirely a different ballgame without substituting a cig for eating something. Whew...it's quite the challenge!💪

SherryeB💙Loved hearing from you today! Thanks for your support and suggestions. I'm determined to get back to using my cute little ramekins for serving up snacks cuz it really helps me to be more mindful about portions. Hmmmm...pears sound good! I usually buy them in the little lunchbox containers though (a lot handier!)
