Cricket's Journal, 19 July 2007

This morning I tried on a pair of pants that I wouldn't have worn out in public 10 days ago (too tight), and today, they were loose enough that I would have (except they are wool, and it's July, which probably explains the funny look my husband gave to me when he saw me in them). Although I don't feel thinner, it's great to see some tangible results.

Hey, that's great! You're making good progress. Isn't it fabulous to see the results in your clothes? Unfortunately, by next winter those wool pants might be too big for you. :) Keep up the good work.

It's great to be able to get back into ones clothes again, nothing quite as energizing. Great job cricket!

Wow! Herbie is right-- you are mking super progress. I remember when I went for an interview last year I just assumed that my pants would fit-- and they didn't! I had to leave my suit jacket on whenever I wore my suit. The opposite of that experience is so satisfying. It is also a good feeling to take control of your weight to a greater extent. We tend to assume a sort of inevitability to some of these "getting older" changes. But that extra ten pounds you need not own.

You are doing so very well! Way to go! The good news is that the tangible rewards are even greater the longer you stay on the diet. You'll notice that you can do things you couldn't do before (for me it's the ease of bending over to tie my shoes), greater energy, and a better self-image. It's great! Keep up the good work!
